Get ready for a thrilling comeback! The Grand Tour is back, but with a twist!
Prime Video has dropped a bombshell announcement: The Grand Tour will grace our screens once more in 2026, but this time, it's bringing a fresh trio of hosts to the forefront.
Say hello to Thomas Holland and James Engelsman, the dynamic duo from the popular YouTube channel Throttle House, and join them as they welcome Francis Bourgeois, a social media sensation known for his unique take on trainspotting.
This six-episode series, set to premiere on Prime Video later this year, will take us on an exciting journey across diverse locations, from the scorching Angolan desert to the vibrant streets of Malaysia, and finally, to the sunny shores of California.
James Engelsman, in a statement released alongside the announcement, expressed his excitement: "I've had the pleasure of working with Thomas for nearly a decade, creating car-focused content. Little did we know that the missing piece to our puzzle was none other than Francis Bourgeois! Get ready for some epic car adventures!"
Thomas Holland, a motoring journalist and co-founder of Throttle House, couldn't help but add his thoughts: "When I first heard they were rebooting The Grand Tour and replacing the iconic trio of Clarkson, Hammond, and May, my initial reaction was, 'Only a brave soul would take on that challenge.'"
And brave they are! Holland, along with Engelsman and Bourgeois, will undoubtedly bring a unique perspective to the show. Holland launched Throttle House in 2015, and Engelsman joined him a few years later, creating a dynamic partnership. Meanwhile, Francis Bourgeois, whose real name is Luke Nicolson, is a qualified mechanical engineer with a unique background, having worked briefly at Rolls-Royce before pursuing his growing social media career.
The Grand Tour, Prime Video's most-watched unscripted UK original series globally, has been on hiatus since September 2024, following the emotional episode "One for the Road." This episode, filmed across Zimbabwe and Botswana, marked the end of an era as hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May concluded their 22-year collaboration on The Grand Tour and the beloved BBC show, Top Gear.
But here's where it gets controversial... Clarkson himself made a surprise return to The Grand Tour's social media channels this week, appearing in a short skit that confirmed the new hosts.
And this is the part most people miss... The Grand Tour's future is not just about the new hosts; it's about embracing change and creating a new era for automotive entertainment.
So, what do you think? Are you excited for this fresh take on The Grand Tour? Or do you prefer the classic trio? Let's discuss in the comments and share our thoughts on this bold move!
